Finding Meaning during these challenging times
I have found myself reflecting on Viktor Frankl's account of finding meaning in terrifying times during WW2, this inspired a few thoughts and tips:
1. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 - paint, draw, write, sing...but don't just consume content and material.
2. 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: support your nearest and dearest, use technology to connect (Facetime, Whatsapp, Marco Polo, Houseparty, Zoom...)
3. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀: this is a tough one! But during these difficult days, where are you focusing your core purpose? Being a strong support for others? Investing in your skills for the future world of work? Nurturing a hobby that may lead to your next step? Appreciating that your role and job is critical and, in some ways, a privilege during this time. 4. 𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗸. But life does still have meaning in the most trying of times.
5. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁: try to focus outside of yourself to get through feeling stuck about a situation. Just a few thoughts, love and light to everyone.
